Summary:

This position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining all logistics with our products when they leave the manufacturing facility to our wholesalers and then to a retail pharmacy or specialty distributor. This position will work on product distribution strategies and work closely with the Regional and National Field Based Managed Markets team in securing relationships with wholesalers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Manage all distribution related issues with Acorda products (e.g. returns and pharmacy stocking issues) including coordinating the development of a distribution strategy for Fampridine-SR with the senior management of Managed Markets

• Coordinate with Acorda manufacturing department in demand forecasting and pharmacy/wholesaler fulfillment throughout pre-launch and post-launch phases of Fampridine-SR to ensure successful implementation of the trade/distribution strategy

• Manage development of all communications to retail trade, specialty pharmacy and wholesalers to ensure successful communication of all Acorda product related information

• Assist account managers and Contracts/Pricing Manager in the development and execution of contractual relationships with specialty pharmacies
• Provide regular updates and recommendations for organization preparedness for Pedigree related legislation (federal and/or state)

• Create standardized systems and processes to support Managed Markets that includes the maintenance and operation of any online systems purchased by Acorda to track inventory levels and the distribution channel

• Create and implement a communication strategy and any conversion programs to address the needs of compounding pharmacies during the launch phase of Fampridine-SR.

• Review and respond to channel related Requests For Proposals (RFPs) and Invitations To Bid (ITBs) in compliance with corporate policies and Government regulations.

• Coordinate with Sales/Marketing Operations on all aspects of data acquisition and analysis for Managed Markets

• Other duties as described by Managed Markets

Education and/or Experience

BA or BS degree; MBA desired with at least 3 years experience in/with specialty pharmacies. Trade & operations expereience is desired and a plus. Additional experience in sales, marketing or business strategy is desired. Broad pharmaceutical and/or health industry experience including sales, trade management/analysis along with experience launching products or working with existing pharmaceutical products in promotion. Must have specialty, retail trade, and wholesale experience. Knowledge of HDMA regulations desired.
